The Cape Town Cycle Tour has always been committed to raising money for those less fortunate and in need. Over the past 15 years the Cape Town Cycle Tour has helped to raise over R100million for social upliftment and cycling development.
During these uncertain times, many South Africans are suffering during lockdown, including a number of communities that the Cape Town Cycle Tour passes through each year.
To support those who are in greatest need along the route , we have launched a fundraising campaign with two donation options.
All donations will be used to support the vulnerable communities who open their hearts and streets to us each year. We have partnered with our long-standing sponsor Pick n Pay and, through their “Feed the Nation” campaign, together we will pack and distribute food hampers to the following communities along the Cape Town Cycle Tour route:
• Red Hill Community
• Ocean View
• Imizamo Yethu
We have created a GivenGain platform for anyone to make a donation and “Pay It Forward”, from as little as R25 and up. All those donating will be entered into a lucky draw to win prizes from our partners, Thule and Garmin. Response
2. Cape Town Cycle Tour “Pay It Forward” campaign.
We are appealing to prospective Cape Town Cycle Tour participants to donate a sum of R1,000 in direct support of the “Pay it Forward” campaign. As a gesture of appreciation, the Cape Town Cycle Tour will offer you a complimentary entry into the next event (Ts&Cs apply). This incentive is limited to the first 250 donations of R1000. There will also be a lucky draw for these donations, with more prizes up for grabs from Thule and Garmin.
IMPORTANT: Due to the overwhelming response to this element of the campaign, we have reached the limit of 250 complimentary entries. Anyone wishing to donate to the initiative please follow the link to the GivenGain portal above
While we realise that everyone is affected by this global crisis, we believe – with your support – we can play a big role in helping those closest to us.
We are extremely grateful that we were able to stage the 2020 Cape Town Cycle Tour, especially after having experienced a number of years of significant challenges. For the heroes who participated this year, we would like to extend our thanks and gratitude for your support for making the 2020 Cape Town Cycle Tour so memorable.
On behalf of the team at the Cape Tour Cycle Tour Trust, we extend to you our sincere gratitude for participating in this “Pay It Forward” campaign.
