Can I collect for other participants?
Yes, you can collect for other participants as long as you have a copy of their valid vaccination card or valid Rapid Antigen Test (within the 72-hour window period) and a copy of their ID. Non participants collecting for other riders will required to enter the registration and will therefore either need to be fully vaccinated or also do the Rapid Antigen Test.
I have had Covid recently and I am worried that I will return a positive Rapid Antigen Test?
The Rapid Antigen Test available at our screening facility is designed to only test positive if the participant is infectious with Covid-19.
What happens if I do return a positive Rapid Antigen Test?
You will be advised to consult with your doctor and to isolate immediately according to Covid-19 guidelines. If you believe that the test is a false positive, you will have the right to undergo a PCR test at a facility of your choice and, in the event that it is negative, present that at registration.
What happens if I am under-18?
If you are under-18 you will need to undergo a Rapid Antigen Test unless you can show proof of being fully vaccinated overseas.
You will need to bring a signed letter from your Parent or Guardian giving consent to the Rapid Antigen Test.
Can I do substitutions?
Yes, you can do substitutions at Registration only. Please bring a signed letter from the withdrawing rider confirming that he/she is no longer taking part. The letter must include the withdrawing riders ID number and race number.
Substitutions cost R200.
What happens if I have lost my Racetec chip?
A Racetec counter will be available as you enter the Registration area where you can either check the status of your existing chip or buy a new chip. The cost of a chip is R150.
Will there be an expo?
Unfortunately not. Due to Covid-19 restrictions – and to ensure the safety of all participants and officials – no Expo will be held for this edition.
Will there be a Club 21 stand?
The Club 21 stand will return in 2022 with all the updated history walls and a revised merchandise offering for our loyal supporters.
Will there be a Goodie Bag?
Regrettably, due to the uncertainty around the hosting of major events for the latter part of 2021, a decision was made earlier in the year to put the Goodie Bag on hold until 2022 when the Cycle Tour will be returning to a more traditional format.
